Developed after several experiences using underarm crutches, and the frustration of having them slide off surface edges when they don’t lean exactly on the handle pad or armpit pad.
We worked with different manufacturers to find the right surface tension material needed to help hold a crutch in the upright position, when leaned against most surface edges.
We think you’ll appreciate the simple, safe, yet secure feeling for you, your special other, or patient.
Application instructions:
Apply strips to same crutch side, one strip per crutch leg
Start placement of strip typically 25”-27” from the bottom of the crutch
Remove adhesive backing
Continue to press strip onto crutch up towards the armpit pad
Repeat on opposite leg, same surface side of the crutch.
Trim strip if needed with scissors or utility knife.
Both legs need the strip installed to create the surface tension needed to resist slides.
Strips should be facing away from body when using the crutches. Inward facing may cause strips to catch on clothing due to surface tension of the strips.
When applied per the instructions, the strips will grip most standard height bars, counters, tables, desks, and work surface edges.
